24 Seasons Drumming Group

Learn to drum, make new friends, have some fun!

24 Seasons Drumming Group is a friendly, no experience necessary, drum-banging troupe that explores the Chinese/Malaysian art form of '24 Seasons Drum'. We're offering the chance for all individuals, regardless of gender, experience or skill level, to play the drums, make new friends and most importantly, have fun!

The art form of '24 Seasons Drum' was invented in 1988 by music teacher Tan Hooi Song and poet, Tan Chai Puan, with the performance involving choreographed movements and rhythmic patterns based in Chinese elements, including martial arts and calligraphy (to view a live performance, click here).

We are looking for individuals who wish to join the 24 Seasons Drumming Group, learning the art of Chinese drumming and performing at the Nan Tien Temple's distinguished events, including the Nan Tien Bridge Opening on the 28th of July 2018.

This is a terrific opportunity for you to learn a uniquely powerful craft, and in the process increase your self confidence, focus and mind development, break down social barriers and most importantly, revel in the joy music brings.

The Nan Tien Temple is hosting a FREE two-week training program run by renowned drumming expert, Chua Wan Ping, who is flying in from Malaysia to teach.

Individuals will be awarded the opportunity to study with distinguished teacher Chua Wan Ping in the field of 24 Seasons Drumming, and will have the expertise to perform this unique sequence professionally upon completion.
